Vera Jimenez has 10 years of experience as a traffic reporter and is currently on the CBS 2 News utilizing state-of-the-art technology during the station's weekday morning newscasts. "I love being able to give people information that they can utilize immediately!"

Jimenez, who was born in Mexico moved to California at the age of three. Her father died that same year and her mother successfully raised six children on her own. Jimenez says, "My mom is my Hero!"

She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Cal State Long Beach graduating Cum Laude. Jimenez went on to Mississippi State University to study Meteorology and will complete the 3 year program in 2009.

Her background includes working as an airborne traffic reporter for CBS 2's sister station KNX 1070. "I loved flying high above the clouds with nothing but magnificent blue sky, there is nothing like it."

Jimenez just completed her first marathon running 26.2 miles successfully raising over $18,000 for the American Stroke Association.

She volunteers her time to a youth mentoring program and also records books on tape for the blind or dyslexic.

Her love of travel has taken her to countries in Latin American, Europe and Asia. If she had to name a favorite, it would be India.
