James Reynolds joined the cast of “Days of our Lives” as the respected police commander Abe Carver in October 1982. This year he was nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor.
Reynolds has appeared in more than 50 plays and in numerous films. His primetime TV credits include “The Incredible Hulk,” NBC’s “Diff’rent Strokes” and “The Dukes of Hazzard.” He starred as Henry Marshall on the NBC daytime drama “Generations,” earning an Emmy Award nomination as Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series.
Reynolds, a native of Oskaloosa, Kansas, is a former Marine and a Vietnam veteran. He has also worked as a newspaper arts critic and as a magazine editor.
He enjoys spending time with his family and playing basketball and racquetball. He and his wife, Lissa, live near Los Angeles. They have one son, Jed.
