mitchiebrusco.jpg Mitchie Brusco was 3 years old when he first climbed on a skateboard and now, at 8 is one of the country's top young skateboarders!

It all began when he and his mother were shopping at Target. Mitchie, 3 years old at the time, pleaded with his mom to buy him a Tasmanian Devil toy skateboard. "I don't know if he saw the Tasmanian devil or the skateboard, but it started and it hasn't stopped," Jennifer Brusco said.

He has won his past three competitions, including the first-place trophy at the 8-and-under Northwest League Competition held in Portland, Oregon.

The win earned Mitchie an all-expenses-paid trip to the Gravity Games in Cleveland, one of the biggest skateboarding events in North America where he was the youngest competitor.

Mitchie has four siblings - Jessica, Mikie, Alexandra, and Nicole. All of them are athletic and Mitchie is thrilled that baby sister Nicole has taken to skateboarding. Mitchie, who lives in Kirkland, Washington, is known to his fans as Little Tricky. Mitchie's father, Mick Brusco, played baseball at Lewis and Clark State College and played fastpitch softball for Pay 'N Pak during the 1980s. Jennifer a former professional baseball player with the Colorado Silver Bullets who's now a stay-at-home mom also played basketball and tennis.

He's made enough of a name for himself that he's grown used to signing autographs. He showed his stuff on NBC's The Today Show, paying more attention to the ramps than to host Matt Lauer. He gained additional exposure with appearances on The Wayne Brady Show, The John Walsh Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, 54321 Weekly Update, NBC Sports, ESPN Outside The Lines and charmed Hosts Lisa Rinna and Ty Treadway on SoapTalk.

Articles on Mitchie appear in USA Today, Sports Illustrated, Parents Magazine, Time for Kids, National Geographic, The Seattle Times, LA Times, ESPN Magazine and Forbes. In 2004 People Magazine chose Mitchie to appear in their national ad campaign.
