Actor and performer Joey Mendicino has always believed that you must “follow your heart” to achieve your professional and personal dreams. This handsome young Pittsburgh, PA native is living his dreams by creating art as an actor, songwriter, singer and artist. Joey’s fans have enjoyed his work as a high school bully on Nickelodeon’s DRAKE & JOSH and comedic Canadian on Showtime’s JILL AT 26. His most challenging and engaging role, which tests all of his innovative skills, is currently viewed by millions of viewers, on MTV’S THE 70’s HOUSE. The 10-episode reality series takes a group of 12 young people, and transports them back to the ‘70’s. Joey grew up with 4 brothers in Pittsburgh, PA. His family was in construction and he learned the business because “I loved creating art and watching a sketch on paper turn into a great home, was like watching a painting come to life before my eyes. It was a wonderful experience.” Joey entered Gannon University on a partial football scholarship and a back injury dashed his hopes of an athletic career. His advisor suggested that he audition for a role in the school’s production of ROMEO AND JULIET. He made his debut as a guard and went on to star as Claudio in MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING, Hovstad in AN ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE, Billy in THE CRIPPLE OF INISHMAAN and Michael Just, Tina’s ex-boyfriend in TONY & TINA’S WEDDING at The Erie Playhouse.” When he is not in front of the camera, Joey is outdoors. He is adept at swimming, track and field, ice hockey, snowboarding, rollerblading, boxing, golf, tennis, mountain biking, motor cycling and surfing. |
