Jake Simpson believes that dreams do come true, and a growing legion of fans nationwide have helped turn those dreams into reality. This handsome, young high tenor, with a three-octave range, won the ultimate winner’s prize on CBS-TV’s popular STAR SEARCH (adult singer category).
The year before, Jake won STAR SEARCH with his dynamic rendition of ISN’T SHE LOVELY and was thrilled when he had the opportunity to perform the song with his idol Stevie Wonder on THE OPRAH WINFREY SHOW.
Jake has been a “hot” performer since his big win. He opened for the legendary Smothers Brothers at the Las Vegas Hilton, starred in TOMMY at Boston’s Stoneham Theatre, starred in the musical ROCK OF ANGELS in Santa Fe, New Mexico, sang THE NATIONAL ANTHEM at Dodger Stadium before the Dodgers Colorado game and brought 50 thousand fans fans to their feet when he sang The National Anthem as several U.S. Air Force jets fly over the stadium. He performed at the 6th annual DAY OF THE CHILD event honoring 2 thousand foster children and mentors at Pierce College in Los Angeles, CA.
Jake recently headlined at a black tie gala in Los Angeles honoring Specialist Shoshana N. Johnson, (Ret.) the first female POW of Operation Iraqi Freedom. She is also the first African-American female POW in United States war history. Rear Admiral Barry C. Black, the current and 62nd Chaplain of the U.S. Senate was also honored.
How does Jake Simpson feel about his new fame? “I feel so fortunate. Music is an integral part of my life and who I am. I love performing and hope that I can translate those feelings to others through my songs.”
