SERIES DESCRIPTION: The M Squad was an elite group of plainclothes Detectives working to fight organized crime in Chicago. Lt. Ballinger (Lee Marvin) was one of the top Detectives who worked by himself, as did most of the members of M Squad. Ballinger was a hard-nosed cop with no wife or love life whatsoever. His commanding officer, Capt. Grey (Paul Newlan), assigned Ballinger to most of his special cases.
