TV's longest running soap, Guiding Light takes place in the fictional Midwestern town of Springfield. In its early years the stories centered on the middle class Bauer family, but later the wealthy Spauldings, Chamberlains, and Lewises, along with the working class Reardons and others, took their own places of prominence, though the Bauers remain the heart of the show.

Character Description
Locke Walls was introduced in April 1985 as a wonderfully gifted rock musician who had fallen on bad times and was poor in health. He got involved with wealthy Alexandra "Alex" Spaulding in Europe and ended up coming to Springfield to stay, eventually to die in the fall of 1985.
